December 2024 – Yard Sales Assistant
We’re looking for a multi-skilled, experienced Yard Sales Assistant to join our successful, customer focussed team, here at SLS Building Supplies.
As the right candidate, you will be hard working, reliable and safety focussed at all times. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team and will be able to follow instructions as well as using your own initiative.
This position is customer facing, so you will have the skills to communicate effectively with customers in a helpful, friendly and efficient manor.
You will be working behind the counter, in the yard and out on the road delivering, so the following skills and experience are required:
Serving customers and dealing with enquiries
⁃ Knowledge of building products and materials
⁃ Good communication skills
⁃ Friendly, helpful and outgoing demeanour
Processing sales, orders, payments and returns
⁃ Good grasp of numbers
⁃ Experience with computer systems
⁃ Attention to detail
Loading customers and delivery trucks. Unloading, sorting and storing incoming stock.
⁃ Forklift experience (however, training/refresher course will be provided)
⁃ Experience with manual handling best practices (again, training will also be provided)
⁃ Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage workload
Hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 12pm Saturdays. However, we are also willing to offer a part-time position to the right candidate.
